Q. Who are Rearden-Cord?

A. We're an employment agency which has been based in Kingston, Surrey, for 33 years. We provide quality staff, both temporary and temp-to-perm, to industry, commerce and the public sector.

Q. How can you help me?

A. By always having a competent, flexible, well-interviewed, referenced, and fully compliant team of temporary staff available to cover industrial, driving and administrative vacancies.

Q. Under what circumstances can you help me?

A. Holidays, leave-taking, sickness, seasonal fluctuations, business peaks and troughs, planned production, work overload, and extraordinary business demand.

Q. How would you describe yourselves?

A. As the agency that does what it says it will do. We're reliable, with a 'can-do' attitude and high standards. We're friendly, hard working, available 'live' round-the-clock, and tolerant towards all.

Q. Where do you find your temps?

A. Through press advertising, Yellow Pages, Thompson's, and the Internet. Many people just call in to make enquiries, or they come to us by recommendation.

Q. Are your temps bona-fide and eligible to work in the UK?

A. Yes. We follow very rigid recruitment procedures. We insist on all the correct paperwork. Our Operations Team are second-to-none in their knowledge and application of the law.

Q. Are your temps reference checked?

A. Yes. References are either brought in, or taken up by phone, fax or letter from information supplied. When a reference is impossible to obtain, the client is informed.

Q. How do I know your temps are reliable and won't let me down?

A. We interview every candidate face-to-face in our office in a process which takes about half an hour. We reckon we put so many barriers in front of people that a dud worker, or time waster, would have to be pretty determined to get through.

Q. How do you justify your hourly charge rates? I pay my staff much less.

A. On top of our hourly pay rates we add percentages for Holiday Pay, Sick Pay, Employers National Insurance and business overheads. In the interests of transparency, clients are entitled to a complete breakdown of our charges.

A. Yes. Temps are the ideal solution when there is a need for flexible staffing. We advertise, recruit, and payroll, rather than you. Your own total full-time employment costs can quite easily match, or even exceed, our competitive hourly rates.

Q. Can you help me at short notice?

A. Yes. We work long hours, round-the-clock, for your benefit. Our Operations Team is always ready to talk to you.

Q. Can I get permanent staff from you?

A. Yes, through our temp-to-perm 'try-before-you-buy' scheme. It's a proven, practical, and painless way of paying fees.

Q. Do you belong to a Trade Federation, and comply with an industry Code of Practice?

A. Yes. We're members of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC). We've signed up to, and strictly comply with, the REC Code of Professional Practice.

Q. Have you been externally, and independently, inspected to prove your business is compliant, legal, and ethical?

A. Yes. In January 2006 we were delighted to receive the coveted 'REC Audited' status.
